Senior Investment Advisors
Born and educated in Whangarei Walter is the founding director starting out in public practice in 1968. Prior to this and whilst gaining his qualifications he worked for the Inland Revenue department in Whangarei. With over 30 years experience with a wide client portfolio of commercial, manufacturing and agricultural businesses, Walter has been a director of public companies such as United Transport and Michael Hill Intl, a director of the Housing Corporation, a counselor and finance Chairman for the Whangarei District council for 6 years. Walter is the Senior Wealth Management Advisor for Yovich & Co.
Locally born Mark has spent the last 27 years with the firm. Prior to this he obtained his qualifications at Auckland University and worked 5 years with the Inland Revenue Department in Auckland and Whangarei.
Mark enjoys client contact and works with a wide range of clients in the fields of taxation, asset protection and business structuring.
Tony Morris was brought up in Whangarei before attending Waikato University in 1988 for two years. Tony joined the firm in 1994 and prior to this worked for another local practice whilst completing his studies.
In 1996 Tony headed overseas where he worked in London and being employed as a Commercial Manager by a special purpose Company set up by the UK Government to design, construct and operate a £200 million tram system in Croydon, UK.
Tony returned in November 2000 and became a Director in April 2003.
Paul was brought up in Whangarei and joined the firm in 2001, becoming a Director of the firm in April 2004.
Prior to this he was based in Auckland for 5 years, with a firm responsible for managing a varied client base specialising in personal and company structuring, business advice and trust matters.
Paul has particular experience and interest in corporate and personal structuring, trusts, taxation and business development.
Raised in Dargaville, Trevor attended Lincoln University graduating with an Agricultural Commerce and Finance Degree. Trevor has worked in Chartered Accountancy since 1990 and has been based in Whangarei since 1992. He has experience in assisting many businesses from farming to heavy industry. Trevor enjoys working with people to improve their businesses.
Trevor became a Director in December 2009.
Sharon grew up in Northland but moved to Auckland to gain her qualifications. After nine years she returned to Northland and has been working at YHPJ since 2005. During her time in Auckland, Sharon graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Business degree, achieved her Chartered Accountant qualification and gained five years of valuable working experience.
Sharon is looking forward to continuing to grow her client base and develop new relationships and value added services with clients. "I am really looking forward to the challenge, I enjoy the interaction with clients and want to help them demystify their accounts and processes so they can spend more time working on rather than in their business".
Share and her husband David live in Onerahi with their two young daughters who keep them busy. They enjoy fishing and with close ties with the Bay of Islands, they spend many weekends in Kerikeri. Sharon also enjoys playing social netball and you can see her on court playing for the YHPJ team
On 1 April 2013 Sharon will be appointed a Director of YHPJ.

Sacha joined YHJP in early 2007. She started her career as an auditor after graduating from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Commerce. Sacha then went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant and has broad experience in the field. In addition, Sacha has also worked in the Commercial Sector.
During her time with YHPJ, Sacha has gained valuable experience working alongside a wide variety of clients and enjoys supporting them on their journey to achieve their business goals. "I am mindful that numbers are not everyone's favourite subject, so I focus on providing information that is relevant to clients in all plain, meaningful terms. I look forward to meeting with you soon to discuss your business need".
Sachs was born and raised in Whangarei and along with her husband Alex, has a passion for cycling and regularly trains and competes in events. They also enjoy the best of what Whangarei has to offer including camping with their young daughter, Olivia. Sacha has recently become a Marriage Celebrant, which also keeps her busy over the summer season.
Sacha will be appointed a Director of YHPJ on 1 April 2013.

Born and educated in Whangarei Ian spent eleven years in banking and commerce before joining Wally in public practice in 1973.
From a rural background Ian has a special interest in farm accounting and taxation, asset protection and estate planning. He also has over thirty years of experience in commercial accounting within the firm.
Ian retired from the practice in November 2009 however, continues to operate as a Consultant.

Dan has been involved in the Chartered Accountancy profession since graduating from Auckland University in 1974. He established his own practice in Whangarei and later amalgamated with Yovich
Hayward Pevats. He has a special interest in farming and trusts and the taxation thereof.
Dan retired from the firm on 1 April 2013 but continues to work as a Consultant.
